Join a Citygroup
Citygroups gather in homes to grow in love for God, one another, and our neighbors. We would love to connect you to a Citygroup near you!
Winter Semester Begins Week of January 13th
Citygroups are communities in which we help one another apply the transforming power of the gospel to everyday life.
Citygroups are small groups that meet weekly during four semesters throughout the year to grow in love for God, love for one another, and love for our neighbors, all in response to God’s love for us in Jesus Christ. Citygroups gather to study Scripture, encourage & pray for one another, and to love our neighbors. Citygroups provide a more intimate community than our Sunday gatherings in which to apply the gospel to all of life and grow in our Christian faith together.
Why join a Citygroup?
In Romans 15:7, the Apostle Paul writes, “Therefore welcome one another as Christ has welcomed you, for the glory of God.” We join Citygroups because they’re communities where we welcome one another with all the love and warmth of Jesus, for the glory of God. That kind of community is what we are made for!
What should I expect when I visit a Citygroup?
Citygroups meet weekly to study the same book of the Bible that we’re studying on Sundays, pray with one another, and encourage one another through rich relationships. Citygroup members often enjoy life together outside of the weekly meeting as well.
What is the makeup of a Citygroup?
Citygroups reflect the makeup of our larger church and are made up of people from all backgrounds and life-stages. Our hope is that your Citygroup will be a rich experience of the Body of Christ rather than an affinity group.
Who leads Citygroups?
Citygroups are led by covenant-members (typically one man and one woman) of Citylight Church who are trained and supported by the Citylight pastors. A few Citygroups happen to be led by one of our pastors.
How long are Citygroup semesters?
Typically, Citygroup semesters run for eight consecutive weeks. Semesters are followed by a break that lasts a few weeks to a month that allows for church wide activities.
